Porridge

"Once upon a time, there lived a family of bears in the forest. There was great big Papa Bear, medium sized Mama Bear, and little Baby Bear.
One day, Mama Bear cooked a pot of porridge as breakfast for herself, Papa Bear and Baby Bear. The porridge is very hot so the three bears decided to go strolling in the woods for a while until the porridge cooled down."

If you have ever read this story, you know that, soon after the bears leave, Goldilocks, comes around, and eats up their porridge. In our home, I make oatmeal for my hubby ginger locks Mr.G.  This is one of his favorite breakfasts, sprinkled with raisins on top. It is so easy to prepare, and can be changed up, with so many different fruits. You can make them with only water, if you prefer, I like to use all milk, just gives them a creamier texture. I hope you give them a try.

1 cup of oats

2 cups of milk

add honey and salt to taste

cook over medium heat

stirring till thick, about 3 to 4 minutes

Porridge

1 measure of oatmeal ( I use a mug)
2 measures of milk or water ( the same mug, I use all milk)
pinch of salt, to taste
sugar or brown sugar or honey or maple syrup -2 tablespoons- or added to desired sweetness

cinnamon to sprinkle on top

Add the, oatmeal, milk, salt and honey (what I use), to a pot, over medium heat keeping stirring, till it thickens, this takes about 3 to 4 minutes.
Pour into  bowls.
Sprinkle with cinnamon, and serve.

**** you can add rasins if you like, dried apricots, chopped, diced apples, and you can top it with, some more honey, or maple syrup, or serve with berries.......it is very versatile, you add things to your liking :)
