Well the day finally arrived, after three wonderful months of vacation, the monkees went back to school. I had my doubts about how smoothly our morning would go, seeing as we  they have been sleeping in, the whole summer ! It went rather well, no one cried except for me  this morning. The house was oh so very quiet, it was very odd just for a little while.  Best part of the day, when they came home, all happy and feeling great about their days. Knowing that they all had an awesome day at school, makes the fact that I missed them dearly, worthwhile !

I seriously cannot believe, it is September once again. If I am honest, there have been many signs, it was just around the corner. The nights are much shorter now, and cooler. Why is it the best salad ?? Because it all came from our garden ! Directly from the soil, to our table, I cannot not tell you how excited I get about this ! It is so wonderful to go out there, and see everything growing, this year we even have Arugula ! Mr.G takes such great care of our garden, and it shows ! It truly is a labor of love, and then to be able to make a fresh, organic green salad from it all, is just amazing. everything is growing ! I am up early today, well early considering the fact, the kids and I no longer have to wake up to an alarm clock. The house is nice and quiet the kiddos are still sleeping. Only noise outside my window is the roosters, and birds . My mind has been racing, with so many thoughts, in a couple days we fly out for the summer. I can't help but think how this feels like it all has come full circle.  While I grew up, I can remember the excitement of our trips, to come visit my, grandparents, here on the island. My grandfather, always said, he was up at the crack of dawn, waitng for us to arrive. He was excited, how could he not be, he was waiting for his daughter, his son in law, and his grandchildren.  He would go to all lengths to make sure everything was perfect for us, even the careful raising of the Azorean flag, out on the front porch.
